Do dogs need dog friends??

The question of the day for this Thompson household is…Would Jovie be a better dog if she had a friend??? We are slowly starting to consider this an option.  I would definitely not get another big dog. She fulfils that role excellently. I would however like a small dog, not tiny, but small. On one hand I would really like a lil pup I could carry around and cuddle with, but the other thinks this is an INSANE idea! Can we really handle another dog??????? Hmm…I guess we will see how this turns out.
