Help.

http://www.gopetition.com/petition/43714.html

Last week the Ethiopian Ministry of Women’s, Children's, and Youth Affairs announced their intention to reduce intercountry adoptions by 90% beginning March 10, 2011.

The Ministry’s plan for a dramatic reduction is apparently based on two primary issues;

1) the assumption that corruption in intercountry adoption is systemic and rampant and;

2) the Ministry’s resources should be focused on the children for whom intercountry adoption is not an option.

Blogger's Block.

Usually after a few days of not blogging Ryan will ask why I haven't blogged in a while. I almost always answer with I just don't have anything to say. Sadly, I still do not have much to say! Some rather big news I suppose is that as much as BOTH Ryan and I want to adopt, we cannot internationally until one of us is 25. Basically we can't start any of the process until November. It also means that it would be around 2012-2013ish until we actually got a sweet baby home. I was more than willing to postpone biological babies, but now I am not so sure I can wait that long. I was hoping (ignorantly) that we could start the process and just not get a referral until I was 25. Wrong, wrong, wrong. Anyway that kind of really killed my spirits and just left me feeling blah. I have no idea what is next for us and that is a bit of a strange place to be. I guess we will just keep on going and see what God has in store for us.

On a different note, Ryan and I started a little mission project called Love 19. We brought some Valentine cards and candies to a nursing home on Valentines. Our next project is going to Boys Haven and serve ice cream sundaes to the boys that live there! I am really pretty excited about this because really, who doesn't LOOOOVE ice cream?!!? Also a really cool little part about that we brought nineteen packs of cookies to the nursing home, and yesterday while I was writing out ideas for the sundaes I wrote out nineteen items!! I thought that was really a God thing. Silly God thing, but it was really cool to me! Also, Ryan said he didn't really like the name Love 19 because the 19 wasn't really meaningful. The Love part comes because we started this on Valentines day. So I was reading Proverbs, and I came across Proverbs 19:17 "He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD". Perfect once again another God thing! So if any of you reading this want to join us at Boy's Haven just let me know and I will give you the details!!
