Why does anyone blog???

I overheard a fellow co-worker saying "Why does anyone blog??? " very casually and nonoffensively the other day. Thankfully I wasn't at her table, and she didn't know I blogged, but I was very unnerved at this question. I don't think it was because I am embarrassed that I was a blogger, I think it was because I didn't know the answer. Why do I blog?  Why do I think anyone would care about what I am doing or thinking? The negative questions just constantly rolled around in my head.
So much so that I thought about deleting my blog.

Then, it hit me. I was reading an excellent book that I absolutely love, and I thought "I need to blog about this!".  I suddenly realized my reasoning for blogging was I love to share. I love to share things that make me excited or happy or concerned or upset.  My experiences, my thoughts, my desires, my fears, my projects, my life. I like to share with other people.  I think I do because I want others to feel how I am feeling. I want people to love things as much as I do. I want people to feel compassion for orphans, to love doing projects for fun, to learn from my suggested books or blogs,and to see how big my God is.

So there it is.

That is why I blog, why I read blogs, talk about blogs, and probably will always be a blogger of some sort. Blog on. :)
