35- $20

So I found this wonderful orgnization called Ordinary Hero yesterday. It is seriously AMAZING to see what they did in the last year alone of their existance. Check it out for yourself, at OrdinaryHero.org. I was blown away, and of course immediately wanted to help! So I was reading their website, and came across a Project 61. Apparently in Africa there is a "dump" of trash. Apparently lots of children are LIVING IN TRASH.  I couldn't imagine even seeing that with my own eyes. Well I did some more looking around the site and found a great video that shows Project 61 in action. Basically it is similiar to World Vision or Compassion, just much smaller and more personal. Read this..."Currently, $700 per year removes a child from a city landfill and places them into a private boarding school. But, the altered living conditions are only the beginning. The relationship your family develops with your sponsored child is vital. Project 61 begins with altering their physical conditions but understands that emotional connections are the key to a healthy child."

Now after reading that I thought, man $700 is a lot of money, I can't do that. However, I pulled out a  handy dandy calculator and found that if 35 people gave $20 we could  literally get a child out of the trash and into a home. Just 35 people!

Ryan and I were recently blown away before our mission trip because in about 2 days we raised almost $600, just by asking our relatives. I am POSITIVE I know 35 people who have $20 they could give to help save a life. So in the motto of Ordinary Hero, I am just throwing this out into cyberspace and if you feel like you could spare $20, we can together save a life.

Just throwing it out there....
