New Years!!

New Years Resolutions.
Ryan- Learn Spanish
Arin- Go ONE night a week without TV.

This seems silly, but it took me FOREVER to come up with. I wanted something that I could see being accomplished. I didn't want to do something "more" or "better", because that is subjective. So I finally came up with it, my biggest deciding factor was that I don't really want to do it. What a better reason to prove I can right?? Let me put my disclaimer in now- I honestly don't care if I do this or not, BUT it would be a great thing to strive for- so okay  if it doesn't work, who cares? I mean some people NEVER watch TV.  I considered taking out the computer one day as well, but considering my job revolves around computers I thought that would be dead before it started.

Motivation: Hopefully this resolution will lead to all things positive. Some examples: possibly clean a little more, exercise more, learn spanish, talk to the hubz more, read the B.i.b.l.e. more, cook more. Basically I am hoping all the "more" things I thought of originally will inadvertently happen because of THIS resolution!

So there it is, my new years resolution out for everyone to see!
Good luck to us, and good luck to anyone else making a resolution!!
See you in 2011.

Last Christmas Post 2010.

This will be my last Christmas post of this season.
I am very sad that it is over, as I always am,  but I know 2011 has some great things in store for my family.

I really embraced this Christmas as the birth of Christ and family this year. (Present were a BIG plus, but didn't make or break me this year).  I really enjoyed being with my family this year more than ever. We have all such busy lives now that being all together happens less and less. The holidays really aren't complete without them no matter how we are celebrating, whether in an ER on Christmas Eve, a house that has the heat on 78 constantly, or a freezing cold living room with new floors. It is all about being together. Young and old.

Here are some things we did together on Christmas:
Constantly listen to Christmas music
Watch old Christmas movies (White Christmas, It's A Wonderful Life)
Eating lots of Seafood and Mexican with our northern family members
 Celebrated my dad's 50 birthday
Shopping (don't forget receipts)
Candle Light Service
Family Pictures
Family Game Nights- Scatagories, Mad Gab, Game of Things
Watch the Dallas Cowboys
Play Kinnect
Baking
Install new floor

I hope everyone had as wonderful a Christmas as we did!

Today.

Today was the day I married my best friend.

Our first year of marriage has been a mix of emotions. I learned how to live without my parents and brothers. I learned how to share a bedroom/bathroom with a boy.  I learned (learning) how to be a housewife. I learned how to be a wife.  The year was filled with ups and downs, but glad to report the majority were ups!

I definitely thank my groom for being so easy going and quick to forgive. We make a good team.

This anniversary week was a great way to reminisce over all the planning and preparations it took to get to this day last year.  I can honestly look back and smile thinking about how great and fun our wedding was.

Tomorrow begins the first day of our second year of marriage. I can't believe we are no longer newlyweds.

Around this time last year I was getting ready for my rehearsal dinner! It was the first "official" part of the wedding, it was a blast. I still think of it as one of my favorite parts!

Don't Plan Without The Knot

The Knot...
Without it I would "knot" have been as organized.

Here are some inspiration I bookmarked...some really came close to what I ended up with!

Their five-tiered cake was made with yellow cake, hazelnut filling, and vanilla icing. Rich red roses and dahlias mixed with greenery filled Venetian-style, frosted vases. Red petals and gold candleholders surrounded the base of the display. To add variety to the space, the florist created three different styles of centerpieces using the sa...

Anniversary Week!

Several of my favorite blogs celebrate their wedding anniversary with an anniversary week!
I am so excited this is finally here. I can't believe it has been a year.
This song is "the" song that makes me think of our wedding everytime I hear it.
The bridesmaids and groomsmen walked out to it.
